Theory, Practice, and Accessing Our Potential
Tuesday, March 17
At 2:30 p.m. Eastern time
Presenter: Rabbi Daria Jacobs-Velde
Our daily liturgy reminds us that “every day Creation is renewed.” The High Holydays call out to us, “real change is possible!” However, if we have ever tried to shift or alter our habits, we also know the struggle that can accompany such efforts. So, what can we do? In this session we will be introduced to the Jewish practice of mussar. By slightly reconstructing the traditional framework, we can access both mussar theory, as well as concrete and effective practices for supporting very real change in our lives.
Rabbi Daria Jacobs- Velde is the rabbi and co-founder of ZMANIM (www.zmanim-seasons.org), an organization that cultivates multi-generational Jewish community in West Sonoma County, exploring and celebrating connections between Judaism and the natural world. She graduated from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2009.
